LLOYD ALLEN LIATTI was born on August 15, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to Ferdinand and Estelle Birtryck Liatti. After graduating from Lincoln West High School, Lloyd enlisted in the Navy serving stateside during the Korean War. He earned his Bachelors Degree in engineering from Duke University on the G.I. Bill in 1954, then continued his Navy service as an officer. While working for the Oilgear Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lloyd met his wife, Kathleen Wernimont. They were married on September 12, 1959, then settled in Cleveland where they raised their five children.
Being a mechanical engineer, Lloyd could and did fix almost anything and everything. He enjoyed music, reading, family camping trips, and his wife’s extensive variety of delicious home-cooked meals and desserts.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Norma Reeves Liatti. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons, Paul (Fran), Steven, Mark and David (Reiko); daughter, Mary Hill (Allyn); grandchildren, Kathleen, Julia, Maria, Grace and Joseph; brothers, William and Robert; and sister, June Winter.
Per Lloyd’s wishes, there will no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Saint Paschal Baylon Catholic Church in Highland Heights on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served in the Eymard Room of the Family Life Center following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MetroHealth Foundation or Hospice of the Western Reserve.
