JOHN M. O’RIELLY, age 65. Beloved husband of 35 years to Suzanne O’Rielly (nee Anfang); dearest father of Liam O’Rielly (wife Jessica) and Elizabeth Wingen (husband Corey); loving grandfather of Maggie and Adelaide O’Rielly and P.J. Wingen; dear brother of Anne, Marion, Bernadette, Eileen, Margaret, Patricia, Claire and William; cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. John passed unexpectedly at home of natural causes on Monday, October 1. John was born on May 22, 1953 in County Cork, Ireland. He earned a soccer scholarship to John Carroll University, which brought him to the United States where he met Suzanne. He was known and admired for his loyalty and lifelong friendships. John owned and managed legendary Cleveland bars such as O’Riellys, The Charles Stewart Parnell, and Flannery’s, among others. Encouraged by his adolescence in Ireland, he brought many notable innovations to Cleveland pub scene, including introducing Imperial pint glasses, Guinness, and single malt scotch to the state of Ohio - for which he would be the first to say, “You’re welcome.” He was a beloved bartender. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in memory of John to the Hattie Larlham Foundation, 9772 Diagonal Rd., Mantua, OH 44255. Funeral Mass Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Church of Communion of Saints Parish. Interment Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wooster, Ohio.
