FRANK ADELBERT WOOD, aged 90 years. Beloved husband of 50 years to the late Jo Ann (nee Murphy); devoted father of Gary Melbourne Wood and Martha Wood Ellrod (husband Heinz); loving grandfather of Makenzie Wood; dear son of the late Frank Henry and Beatrice Rayfuse Wood. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was President of his class at Wooster College, as well as president of The Wood & Spencer Company. Frank was a passionate outdoorsmen; he had an adventurous spirit and loved skiing, sailing, fishing, and golfing with family and friends and sitting on the porch at Martha’s Vineyard to watch the evening sunset. He also had a passion for cars and antique cars especially, and spent countless hours with friends working on and restoring a 1931 Model A that was his baby. His sense of humor, generosity, and kindness made him a loyal and loved friend to many people throughout his life. Frank was a gifted storyteller; he was articulate and genuine and loved to make people laugh. Frank was a voracious reader, always curious and eager to learn more about the world around him and the people in it. Frank always thought the best of everyone, believed in fairness and showed inherent gentility. He brought a lot of happiness and pride to his family and the love he gave will be forever missed. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in memory of Frank to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110. The family will receive friends at the SCHULTE & MAHON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 5252 MAYFIELD RD., LYNDHURST (BETWEEN RICHMOND AND BRAINARD) FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1 FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 12:00 NOON. Private family interment in Lake View Cemetery.
