MARY PATRICIA “PAT” O’LINN, age 88, passed away August 8, 2018. Beloved daughter of the late John J. and Penelope O’Linn (nee Sweeney); dearest sister of the late John O’Linn (Marie), Ella Mae O’Linn, Frank O’Linn (Peggy), Peg Morris (Ray), Anne McGee (Joe) and Alyce Dempsey (Bill); favorite aunt and great-aunt to her many nieces and nephews and their families; special friend of Margaret Molnar and her family. Pat was the youngest of seven children, born to an American father and an Irish mother. Her birth, “a blessed event”, took place in University Heights, which was her residence from that time until her move to Brecksville in 1996. Pat remained a proud alumna of Gesu School, Beaumont School for Girls and John Carroll University throughout her life. Her business career spanned almost 40 years and her employers included John Carroll University, Viking Steel and Sherwin-Williams. Her well-lived life included golf, keeping up with the daily newspaper, bridge and travel (especially trips to Ireland, to visit maternal relatives in County Mayo). Eating out at restaurants or friends’ homes might also be considered a hobby since cooking was “never her cup of tea”. But her very favorite “hobby” was spending time with friends and family; hosting many a gathering. Slainte, Galore. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in memory of Pat to the Robert McAuley Scholarship Fund c/o Gesu Church, 2470 Miramar Blvd., University Hts., OH 44118 or Beaumont Alumnae Scholarship Fund, 3301 N.
