GREGORY ROBERT GIBBONS was granted the gift of life and lived it to its fullest for 67 years. In turn, he gifted all who knew and loved him with his inspired wit, charm, and undying belief in the spirit of goodness. For each of these and more, we will be forever grateful.
Greg passed away suddenly on January 4, 2019 leaving the legacy of a loving husband to Robin, devoted stepfather to Laine, caring son and brother to Frances and Trisha and a faithful friend and ally to many. He was predeceased by his father, Frank Gibbons, a well-known sports writer for The Cleveland Press. For all who loved him, the loss of his presence in our lives seems too much to bear.
It has often been stated that death is more universal than life…everyone dies, but not everyone truly lives…Greg truly lived and touched our hearts and made us more eager to search for the goodness in life. May we never let him down by giving up our quest.
Greg was a lover of all things Cleveland - its culture, institutions, sports teams, and restaurants. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Rescue Village Geauga Humane Society, 15463 Chillicothe Road, Russell Township, Ohio, 44072, rescuevillage.org.
The family will be planning a celebration of life to honor Greg at a future date.
