Obituary

STANLEY V. "STAN" INTIHAR, age 82, passed away on March 5, 2017 with family by his side. Stan was predeceased by his father, Stanley and mother, Alice. Stan is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; sons, Stephen (Tracy), John (Janel) and Phil (Patricia); daughter, Maureen Gaines (John); and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Samuel, Stanley, Catherine, Jack, Lucy, Harris, Evelyn, Matthew, Henry, and Nicholas. Stan is also survived by his sisters, Carol Ison (Rich) and Nancy Tufts and many other beloved relatives. Stan graduated from Euclid High School with honors and is inducted in its Athletic Hall of Fame. He received his Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in mechanical engineering from Cornell University in 1956. Stan was a nationally recognized football player and track and field athlete at Cornell. Although he was drafted by the Green Bay Packers, he chose to work after college as an engineer with General Electric in New York. He returned home to Cleveland upon the death of his father in the late 50s. Stan worked for 30 years for TRW and rose through the ranks to run a global division of the company. He later served as the CEO of Park Ohio Co. Stan served on numerous boards, including as the founding chairman of the Meridia Health System. He was one of the founders of the Romeo Club. He was an avid golfer and card player. Stan enjoyed fishing (though not much catching), hiking, bicycling and anything outdoors. His happiest times were spent with his wife and family by his side on vacations, weddings and other gatherings. In lieu of flowers, contributions suggested to Smile Train, P.O. Box 96231, Washington, DC 20090. Funeral Mass Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Dominic Church. Interment Private.
